SALESMANSHIP TRAINING. In the final week of May 2024, Himex Corporation conducted an advanced training session on salesmanship for the Sales and Marketing team, with the aim of enhancing the team’s selling skills, improving client interactions, and ultimately boosting overall sales performance.

In the final week of May 2024, participants learned about understanding customer needs, as well as learning about effective communication and negotiation skills, innovative sales strategies and the subtle art of handling and overcoming objections.

The participants also learned about effective digital customer relations management through a CRM tool, with sessions on itinerary planning and business review.


Topics include an orientation on effective Radiology sales and the basic principles of magnetic resonance imaging (MRI), as well as the current Philippine MRI market and some effective strategies in identifying and closing sales opportunities.


Moreover, the participants learned about the basic principles of computed tomography (CT) as well as reviewing the features and strengths of CT-scan equipment and product positioning in relation to the current market competition.


They also learned about the principles of ultrasound and X-ray as well as the current product lineup with a review of ultrasound and X-ray machines in the roster.


Participants learned about understanding customer needs, as well as learning about effective communication and negotiation skills, innovative sales strategies and the subtle art of handling and overcoming objections.


Cardiology, Brachytherapy and More


In addition, the participants had an orientation in Cardiology sales, and learned about the principles of linear accelerator (LINAC) systems and the concept of brachytherapy, a type of internal radiation therapy to treat cancers of the head and neck, eye, breast, cervix and prostate.


This included an online session from Austin Health/Olivia Newton-John Cancer and Wellness Centre from Melbourne, including protocol development for brain, head and neck cases, patient selection considerations, clinical advantages and case examples.


Moreover, they learned about the principles of Picture Archiving and Communication System (PACS), dubbed as the digital heart of medical imaging, as well as its interrelated Radiology Information Systems (RIS).


Salesmanship Seminars


Finally, the participants engaged in a series of salesmanship seminars, including techniques in funnel management, prospecting and positioning. They also learned about guidelines in negotiation as well as offering terms and closing deals, and particularly in the successes of Himex Corp. joint-venture projects.


Towards the end of the seminars, former sales manager Daisy Mangawang shared her thoughts and insights on salesmanship as a special guest speaker of the four-day training.


Ms Mangawang emphasized that based on her years at Himex, the company upholds the value of confidentiality in dealing with its partner institutions and hospitals both in the private and public sector. For employees including the sales team, she emphasized the need in staying focused as being paramount in the performance of their duties and responsibilities.

These will help enhance their selling skills, improve client interactions, and boost sales performance, as well as support them in executing effective communication and negotiation strategies and addressing client and customer concerns.


With the conduct of the salesmanship training, the participants were able to enhance their skills and knowledge following the orientation on effective radiology and cardiology, together with the discussions on the basic principles of MRI, CT-scan, ultrasound and X-ray equipment, as well as high-tech systems such as LINACS and PACS-RIS.
